Eastside Catholic School understands the college process can be overwhelming. College counseling is a personalized service available to students throughout high school.
 
The mission of Eastside Catholic’s high school college counseling process is to provide information and guidance to students and their parents, and to assist them in making an informed decision regarding the selection of a college or university that best matches their unique talents and interests. Eastside Catholic has two college counselors devoted to supporting our students and their parents as they navigate the college search and selection process.

College support services are available to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. In the fall, priority is placed on meeting with seniors to ensure they are well prepared and have assistance throughout the college application process. College advising at Eastside Catholic aims to make the college exploration and application process less overwhelming for students and families by providing them with the most up-to-date information and resources available and equip them with the tools necessary to make informed decisions about post-secondary education. College support services include, but are not limited to:
 
SERVICE DETAILS
Individual Meetings Mandatory meetings with all juniors and seniors; meetings conducted with freshmen and sophomores when requested by student or parents/guardians
Grade-Level Meetings College Information Sessions are held in the evenings throughout the year for each grade level (9 – 12)
Meetings with College Representatives In the fall, EC hosts more than 70 representatives from colleges and universities from across the country as well as international schools, to meet with and provide students information about their schools. Students may sign up to attend meetings (limits vary per grade level) and select which schools they would like to learn more about.
Info Sessions or
Workshops
Informational sessions are typically held in the evenings on a variety of topics including PSAT exams/results, NCAA, financial aid, learning disabilities and financial planning
Special Events College panel, essay workshop, Jesuit Excellence Tour “JET Tour”, Case Studies Program with Puget Sound Catholic Schools and other events are made available
Email Communications College-related information is regularly sent out via Naviance to students and parents containing information and resources
Resources Handouts and information are provided on a variety of college topics, some resources are provided in individual meetings, info sessions, or upon request. Naviance also serves as a valuable college tool to students and parents.
Other Coordination of standardized testing through the College Board including AP exams, PSAT and SAT® testing beginning in the freshman year.


































Information for College Representatives
This year we are scheduling college representative visits using Counselor CommunityPlease be aware that it is Eastside Catholic school policy to only allow not-for-profit educational institutions to visit our school.
 
We welcome college visits during the school day, mid-September through mid-November. Please select the time and date that works for you as noted in the Counselor Community calendar. If you have specific questions about your visit or would like to request a time that is not listed, please contact Karin House at khouse@eastsidecatholic.org or Jennifer Hemker at jhemker@eastsidecatholic.org.
 
Day of Visit 
Eastside Catholic is located at 232 228th Avenue NE, Sammamish, WA 98074. Upon entering the building, please check in at the Main Office to sign in and pick up your visitor badge. You will then be directed to Student Services.
 
Parking
Visitor parking is available in the south lot. Upon entering the parking lot, the visitor lot is located on the right. Please allow at least five minutes to walk up the hill from the parking lot to the main building.
