High School Principal: Justyna King
Justyna Plichta King was appointed high school principal in July 2015 after serving as the vice principal in 2014 and teaching AP U.S. History and U.S. History. Previously, Dr. King was a history teacher, curriculum writer and Bellevue Schools Foundation grant committee member for the Bellevue School District. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington in anthropology and history as well as a Master in Teaching in secondary education from Seattle University. She earned her Washington State Principal certificate, as well as her Doctorate in educational leadership, from Seattle University. Dr. King completed her National Board Certification in secondary social studies in 2014. Originally from Kartuzy, Poland, Dr. King is active in the Polish Catholic community and speaks Polish as her primary language. She, her husband and daughters are members of the St. Monica Parish on Mercer Island.
Middle School Principal: Christopher Sharp
Christopher Sharp joined Eastside Catholic in 2014 from St. Luke School where he had been the principal since 2010. Prior to his tenure at St. Luke School, Mr. Sharp was an eighth-grade language arts, social studies and leadership teacher and the social studies department chair for Bainbridge Island's Woodward Middle School. Mr. Sharp received his Washington State Principal certificate from Seattle Pacific University in 2010 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and theatre from Whitman College, a law degree from Cornell University and a master's degree in teaching from Seattle University. As a graduate of Sacred Heart in Bellevue and Seattle Prep, he is a lifelong supporter of Catholic education and was thrilled to have his wife Angie, son and daughter join the Crusader family.
