Wendy Burnham joined Eastside Catholic School in July 2016 as the Executive Director of the Options Program and Learning Support Services, a position responsible for the school’s integrated special education program and Academic Resources Department.
In this role, she will develop and guide the support programs that address the needs of students with diagnosed and undiagnosed learning challenges. In addition, Burnham will oversee the Eastside Catholic Options Program which is designed for high school students with intellectual or cognitive disabilities who cannot access the general education curriculum.
In addition to Eastside Catholic School being Burnham’s alma mater, Burnham previously worked at Eastside Catholic for 18 years as an Options Program Instructor, Director of the Foundations Program and Director of the Academic Resource Center, which was named in her honor in 2008. Most recently she worked as the director and developed the academic resource center at Archbishop Murphy High School.
Burnham received a bachelor’s degree in special education from Gonzaga University and a M.Ed. in curriculum instruction development and design from Lesley University located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Burnham is a member of the Seattle Archdiocese Differentiated Learners Committee and has presented at many regional and national conferences relating to strategies to assist students with differentiated learning needs.
