State DECA Competition Results 2023-24

Our DECA program had 16 students compete alongside over 3,000 students from across the state at Washington DECA's State Career Development Conference (SCDC) in Bellevue, February 29 - March 2.

Over the course of the conference, hundreds of industry judges and DECA volunteers assessed and evaluated thousands of DECA students in competitive events. Students are put to the test with an examination and multiple rounds of performances. Competitions are broken down into Marketing, Business Management and Administration, Hospitality and Tourism, Finance and Entrepreneurship. Students compete individually and within teams.

Congratulations to the following students who medaled at the event!

  • Madison Clem medaled in Human Resource Management
  • Cole Leuesebrink medaled in Automative Service Marketing
  • Luke Mervin and Nolan Sperry medaled in Travel & Tourism Team Decision Making

Additionally, the DECA store was re-certified in the "gold" category, and Madison Clem was officially inducted as a 2024-25 State Officer and the 2024-25 Area 4 President.

Three students qualified to compete at the international competition at this year's International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Anaheim, California, April 27-30.

  • Madison Clem qualified for Human Resource Management
  • Alex Walker and Alan Gutierrez-Baroni qualified for Student-Based Enterprise: Food Operations

Gloria Kokoskin and Courtney Finkbeiner will also travel to the ICDC to attend Thrive Academy, an Emerging Leader Series for DECA.
