Junior Zander Hamilton will join a select group of 20 juniors and seniors from across the country who were invited to participate in an intensive eight-week U.S. Navy Summer Flight Academy this summer. The program was created in 2021 to increase diversity in the field of aviation and includes 32 hours of classroom aviation instruction and 49 hours of flight training at Delaware State University. He will also be required to complete 17 hours of solo flights. At the end of the program, Zander will earn his FAA Private Pilot's license and five college credits.

In addition to attending school at EC, Zander is a student at Red Hawks Flight Academy in Mukilteo.
