Eastside Catholic School is pleased to announce Chrissy May as the new high school assistant principal. With a strong background in classroom teaching, student-focused leadership and a deep commitment to the EC mission, May stood out among a highly qualified pool of candidates. Her appointment follows a comprehensive selection process involving the EC hiring committee, student leaders, and the current principal team.
High School Principal Soonja Larsen commented, “Chrissy has demonstrated unwavering dedication to Eastside Catholic. In her roles as a dean of students and most recently as acting high school assistant principal, she has been a consistent, positive presence on campus—engaging with students, collaborating with teachers and stepping up to support staff in any capacity. Her professionalism and action-oriented mindset make her an ideal fit for this role.”
May initially joined Eastside Catholic in 2023 as a dean of students and quickly transitioned to serve as acting high school assistant principal. Prior to EC, she began her teaching career in the United Arab Emirates, where she taught sixth through 12th grade for three years before relocating to Seattle. Locally, she taught middle school humanities and served as interim middle school director at Villa Academy.
May holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Science in secondary education and English from the University of Portland.
In her new role, May shared her commitment to the Eastside Catholic community:
"I’m excited to continue serving the Eastside Catholic community as the high school assistant principal. This school has been more than a workplace to me—it’s been a place of growth, purpose and meaningful connection. I look forward to continuing to support and empower our students, families and faculty as we foster a community where everyone is seen, supported and challenged to become their best selves."
Eastside Catholic looks forward to the future of the high school under May’s leadership. With her guidance, the school will continue to thrive—providing students with an exceptional educational experience rooted in academic excellence, faith and community.
