Eastside Catholic is thrilled to announce the appointment of Philip Lund as the new program director and head coach of the EC Boys Soccer Program. With an illustrious soccer career and a successful coaching journey, Coach Lund brings a wealth of experience and a passion for developing young talent to the program.

"We are thrilled to welcome Philip Lund to our Eastside Catholic family,” said Athletic Director Stacey Stoutt. “We are excited to have a coach of his caliber at the helm of our boys soccer program. We are confident he will cultivate a great culture and have our team competing at the highest level. We eagerly anticipate an exciting and successful journey under his guidance.”

Coach Lund grew up in Vejle, a small city in Denmark. In his early years of elite soccer, he competed for Vejle Boldklub, one of Denmark's most historic clubs. With a robust family support system, Coach Lund’s parents encouraged him and his brothers to pursue a life in sports. At 18, he became a professional soccer player and played for three different clubs in Denmark. He was recognized as the Best Rookie Player of the year (2017-18) and at age 23, he was offered an opportunity to move to the U.S. to play for the Seattle Sounders Football Club. For a decade, he played professionally in five countries across the globe and most recently, he demonstrated his prowess playing indoor soccer with the Tacoma Stars.

Coach Lund’s passion for soccer extends beyond the playing field. He has significantly impacted youth soccer development in the U.S. as well, having held several key coaching positions including pre-academy director for Bellevue Rush, coaching premier level and academy teams and guiding youth U10 through U18 teams. He’s also served as the Seattle Sounders U-23 assistant coach.

Coach Lund is excited to channel his experiences and knowledge here at Eastside Catholic. With a profound understanding of the tactical and personal aspects of the sport, he aims to guide and inspire the young talents at Eastside Catholic. Coach Lund shared, "I can’t wait to get started to shape and work with the soccer talent we have at EC, and I am grateful for this opportunity.”
