Girls Volleyball Hosts 11th Annual No One Fights Alone (NOFA) Event

The girls volleyball team will host Holy Names for our 11th annual cancer awareness No One Fights Alone (NOFA) match on Thursday, September 29 in the Athletic Pavilion. Junior varsity plays at 5:30 p.m.; the varsity match is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The NOFA event was first organized by the 2012-13 volleyball team and the EC Athletic Department to honor Eastside Catholic’s former volleyball coach, Angie McKinnell, who was battling cancer for the fourth time. The year after our inaugural NOFA game, one of the EC volleyball players was diagnosed with cancer, bringing additional meaning to the event. To honor all those affected by cancer, the team and Crusader fans wear shirts specifying a loved one’s cancer diagnosis during the game.

For additional insight into the original NOFA event, you can read an article posted by The Seattle Times in 2012.
