Coach Trista Campbell has been EC’s head tennis coach since 2019. Coach Trista started playing tennis with her dad in the park just for fun. She joined her high school team her junior and senior year of high school. She played tennis on and off until 2006 when she started playing weekly in the USTA league. Coach Trista now plays three to four times a week on multiple mixed doubles and women's teams. Playing doubles is her favorite. She has qualified for sectionals and hopes to one day play in Nationals.

Coach Trista loves coaching at EC and shared, “The players and their families are incredible and because of them, coaching has been one of the biggest blessings in my life.” She has completed the Level 1 coaches’ workshop through USTA National Coach Development Center and the 2020 and 2023 WIAA Coaches School.

Coach Brian Cave joined the EC tennis staff in 2022. He is a lifelong club tennis player focused primarily on doubles. When not on the courts, Coach Cave is a health Care provider. Coach Cave is the father of current EC student alum – Jordan Cave ’24 and Tyler Cave ’22.

Coach Kirsi Varsa joined the tennis coaching staff in 2023. She has played tennis for 20+ years, first competing in juniors in her native country, Finland. Coach Varsa plays USTA leagues at the 4.5/5.0 level. Most recently, she coached Skyline High School and USTA JTT teams. Coach Varsa is also a school counselor in the Student Services Department at Eastside Catholic School.

Coach Heather Liati joined EC as the JV tennis head coach in 2022. Coach Liati started playing tennis later in life and fell in love with the game. She was drawn to the opportunity to coach younger players to see how they worked through adversity and adapted on the court.

She played competitive USTA tennis in 2021 in doubles and singles. Her goal was to play it all each year — singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Tennis is a complete sport for Coach Liati as it blends her enjoyment of socializing with strategy and problem-solving on the court. Coach Liati’s goal during her first season as a coach was to meet the players where they were and help them move a step closer to their personal tennis goals.
