Meet Our Coaches

Dominic Daste
Head Varsity CoachCoach Daste was named the head coach in 2019 after joining the coaching staff in 2015. He is originally from San Dimas, California where he attended Damien Catholic High School. After high school, he was a student-athlete at the University of Washington, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in geography in 2002. Coach Daste earned four letters in football from the University of Washington. During his six seasons as a player and coach, the UW went to a bowl game each year, including the 2001 Rose Bowl. From 2003-09, Coach Daste was an assistant football coach at the University of Montana where he also assisted with the strength and conditioning program. In 2010, he joined UNLV in Las Vegas as an assistant football and strength coach until 2014.

Adam Kietzer
Assistant Varsity/Special Teams CoachCoach Kietzer returned for his tenth year on the Crusader football staff this year. He played his high school career at Newport and then went on to play at Washington State University, where he played wide receiver and special teams from 1992-97. He was on the Pac-10 All-American team and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in education. He coached at Kentridge, Bellevue and Lake Washington prior to joining Eastside Catholic. While at Lake Washington, they won their first KingCo title in 40 years. In his fifteen years of coaching, he has coached six All-State receivers and two All-State return men. Coach Kietzer teaches high school physical education at EC. He resides in Snoqualmie with his wife, Terese, and their daughter, Cooper and baby boy, Beau.

Rob Christoff
Defensive CoordinatorCoach Christoff completed his seventh season on EC’s football staff as defensive coordinator. A 1995 graduate of Linfield College, Christoff’s coaching career began in 1996 as the defensive line coach at Linfield. He then became a graduate assistant at Colorado, followed by stints at Cal State Northridge and Saint Mary’s College. In 1999 he joined Montana State University, where he spent seven seasons – six as linebackers coach before also becoming defensive coordinator in 2006. He spent the 2007 season as linebackers coach at Idaho State University before making his move to an FBS team as a graduate assistant at Boise State in 2008. He spent the two years before joining EC as the linebackers coach and team camp coordinator at the University of Idaho. In addition to playing for two seasons at Linfield – one as a defensive end and the other as a linebacker – Christoff was a two-year letterman at linebacker for Boise State. He spent one season in the European Football League as a linebacker for the Deggendorf (Germany) Blackhawks.

Lia Fetui
Defensive Line CoachCoach Fetui is back for his seventh season as an EC coach and his fifth as our varsity defensive line coach. His first two seasons at EC were spent as the head coach of our freshmen team. Prior to that, he served as head coach for the Sr. Division West Side Wildcats, where his team won back-to-back championships in the South King County Jr. Football League. Coach Fetui was born in America Samoa and raised in Seattle where he attended and played for West Seattle High School. He has been a great mentor for the Seattle Polynesian youths and tries to inspire them to be their best, on and off the field. He is married to Teresa Ann and has twin sons, Deion and Dominique, Class of 2015, are currently attending the United State Air Force Academy, where they also play football.

Strength/Defensive Backs Coach -
Jason Palmer
Defensive Backs CoachCoach Palmer returns this season as our defensive backs coach. He joins EC from Redmond High School (RHS) where he spent the past eight years coaching defensive backs. Jason currently works as a special education teacher at RHS. In addition, Jason coaches wrestling and track and field specializing in pole vault. Coach Palmer graduated from RHS in 1996, where he was a three sport athlete (football, wrestling and soccer). Football was and still is his love. As a corner, he helped lead his team to the best record in Redmond football history. He was awarded Second Team All-KingCo DB and as a senior was voted to the All-Eastside team. Besides coaching football, Coach Palmer enjoys working out, riding his motorcycles in the summer and riding his snowmobile in the winter.

Greg Prator
Wide Receivers CoachCoach Prator returns to Eastside Catholic this season as the wide receivers coach for the Crusaders. Prior to his previous stint coaching at EC, he coached at Interlake High School for two seasons. Coach Prator grew up in Riverside, California and graduated from Rubidoux High School. From there he went on to Chaffey Community College in Ontario, Canada where he played football until he was granted a football scholarship from Washington State University. He was a wide receiver for the Cougars and graduated from WSU in 2006. After graduation he played in the CFL for the Edmonton Eskimos. For more than ten years, Coach Prator has worked with children with special needs. He is currently a paraeducator at Sammamish High School and also coaches wrestling here at Eastside Catholic.

Congratulations to our Crusader football team who defeated O'Dea High School in the State Championship, 20-12!

Senior Gee Scott Jr. has formed a special friendship with a fan this football season.

Congratulations to the Crusader football team who will advance to the State Championship for the second year in a row. They play O'Dea High School on Saturday, December 7, 12 p.m. at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.

Congratulations to senior Sophia Meyers who was named to the Star Times volleyball team.

Congratulations to junior J.T. Tuimoloau who was named the Star Times Defensive Player of the Year for football.

The Crusaders bested the Bellevue Wolverines, 50-21, to advance to the State semifinals. They'll play Lincoln on Saturday, November 30, 1 p.m. at Sammamish High School.

The All-American Bowl’s Road to the Dome tour visited Eastside Catholic School on Thursday, November 21 to recognize three student-athletes as 2020 All-Americans: Sam Adams II, Ayden Hector and Gee Scott Jr.

Volleyball dominated in the Metro and District tournaments, and one senior broke the record for kills in a season along the way.
