Coach Larsen hails from Sammamish, Washington and was an All-State player at Eastlake High School. He was drafted in the 14th round of the MLB draft out of high school, but declined the offer in order to attend the University of Washington. He was named a Freshman All-American and an All Pac-10 player. H received numerous other awards and holds many Husky records, including the career RBI record. He signed as a free agent with the New York Yankees and twice was named an All-Star in the A-level. He started coaching high school baseball as an assistant coach at Eastlake High School in 2008. He took over the Eastside Catholic program in 2012 and as a first year head coach, Kyle guided the Crusaders to a Metro Championship and the Crusaders first appearance in the 3A State Championship game, where the team finished second. Under Kyle, the Crusaders have won the Metro Championship three times (2012, 2016 and 2017) and have five State appearances in six seasons. Kyle and his wife Rebecca reside in Sammamish and have a one year old son, Kelton. They enjoy spending quality time with their families and catching any sleep that Kelton allows them to get.
Russ Bair
Assistant Head Coach
This will be Coach Bair’s 11th year coaching high school baseball, his ninth at Eastside Catholic. He was a four year varsity baseball player at Issaquah High School before moving on to pursue his teaching degree at Washington State University. He now teaches elementary PE at Samantha Smith Elementary in Sammamish. Away from baseball, he enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife Molly and their two boys Nelson (3) and Wade (1) and their dog Oliver.
Reagan Teegarden
Assistant Coach - Infield/Hitting
Reagan is in his second-year coaching at EC after an extended playing career in college baseball that saw him play across the country, coast to coast. In high school, he was a four-year varsity starter at Bellevue High School, earning honorable mention All-KingCo twice, and named once to first team All-KingCo and second team All-State honors. During the summer, he played for Michael's Toyota Baseball from 2014-2016. After his time at Bellevue, Reagan moved on to play at Washington State University for his freshman year and Central Arizona College for his sophomore year.
At Central Arizona, his college career truly kicked off. Reagan played in 32 games in one year, earning a scholarship to play at Virginia Tech in the ACC. His time was cut short at Virginia Tech due to a broken foot in his junior year and COVID-19 in his senior year. Throughout his college career, Reagan played in multiple prestigious college summer leagues, including the West Coast League for the Wenatchee Applesox and the Bellingham Bells and the New England Collee Baseball League for the Winnipesaukee Muskrats.
Hayden Bowles
Assistant Coach - Defense
Coach Hayden Bowles joined the EC baseball staff in 2021. He is a graduate of Monroe High School where he was a varsity letterwinner all four years. After graduating, he joined the MHS staff from 2014 to 2022, serving primarily as the infield coach and assistant varsity coach. In 2017, he helped start the Aces Baseball Club in Snohomish where he was a head coach and infield coach until 2022. Over the years, Coach Bowles has been a part of many different programs, organizations and events, including Baseball Northwest staff (2019), lead instructor at JP Crawford infield camp (2022), Present Prep Baseball Report NW staff (2018), DBAT Bothell staff (2018-2019), Perfect Game USA staff/head coach (2018-2019), infield instructor at Seattle University Nike baseball camps (2018-2019), Washington Baseball School employee (2017-2019), University of Washington infield instructor (2017-2019), head coach for Aces Baseball (2016-2022) and head coach for the Seattle Dodgers (2014-2016). When not coaching, Coach Bowles loves spending time with his two children.
Alec Gomez
Assistant Coach - Pitching
Coach Alec Gomez has been an Eastside Catholic baseball coaching staff member since 2023. He grew up in the Sammamish area and attended Eastlake High School. Coach Gomez played at Yakima Valley Community College for two years and finished his playing career at Gonzaga University. In addition to coaching at EC, Coach Gomez coaches the Washington A's. Working as the EC pitching coach is something Coach Gomez looks forward to every year. He loves being back in the area he grew up in and working with high school student-athletes.
Max Nealon '17
Assistant Coach
Coach Max Nealon ’17 played baseball and football all four years of high school at EC. His teams earned two State championships in football and two League championships in baseball. He earned Second Team All-Metro third baseman as a junior and Honorable Mention as a senior. Max graduated from Pacific University with a degree in education while playing five years of D3 baseball, earning two conference championships and qualifying for regional tournaments twice. After college, he played professional independent baseball in the Mavericks League for the Campesinos De Salem-Keizer for one season. Currently, Max is a full-time substitute teacher at Eastside Catholic School.
Skip Hulet
JV Head Coach
Coach Skip Hulet has been a member of the EC baseball coaching staff since 2012 in a coaching career that started in 1990, including head varsity positions at Juanita and Eastlake High Schools. He has also coached high school competitive springboard diving since 1986. His competitive days were varied, playing football, basketball and baseball in junior high, then cross country, diving and tennis in high school. He was also a member of the tennis team at Pierce College. He played 10 years in the Puget Sound Men’s Senior Baseball League before finally growing up a little and starting his own family with his wife, Alex. They have a daughter, Sophie (UW), and a son, Quinn (Bellevue College). Coach Hulet is a PE teacher at Inglewood Middle School. Coach Hulet stays busy during the school year but loves to spend time with his family, including cooking gourmet dinners with his wife. His summers are filled with family time, coaching 18U baseball and getting in a few rounds of golf.
Eastside Catholic School proudly celebrated five senior student-athletes who signed National Letters of Intent or commitment letters to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level during a special ceremony in May.
We're thrilled to share that two of our coaches were named Metro Coaches of the Year: Tennis Head Coach Trista Campbell and Baseball Head Coach Kyle Larsen.
