High School Athletics

Building character, fostering teamwork, having fun

Sports are an important part of life at Eastside Catholic. Approximately 75 percent of our students participate in at least one sport per year. Seventeen different EC teams compete in the 3A Metro League, which includes Ballard, Bishop Blanchet, Chief Sealth, Cleveland, Franklin, Garfield, Holy Names, Ingraham, Lakeside, Lincoln, Nathan Hale, O’Dea, Rainier Beach, Roosevelt, Seattle Academy, Seattle Prep and West Seattle.

Our boys lacrosse team competes in WHSBLA (Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association) and our girls lacrosse team competes in WSLA (Washington Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association).

Eastside Catholic athletes have distinguished themselves both on and off the playing field, earning All-Metro, All-League, All-American and All-Academic honors.

Many of our athletes go on to play at the collegiate and professional level. EC graduates have played sports at Harvard, the University of Washington, Dartmouth, Army, the University of Connecticut, the University of Pennsylvania, Oregon State University and Arizona State University, among others.

Sports offered at Eastside Catholic

Three sports seasons are held during the year. All students are encouraged to participate, regardless of experience. Tryouts are held at the beginning of the season and cuts are made in most sports. Most sports have both junior varsity and varsity teams. Some sports have a freshman or freshman-sophomore C teams as well.
