Eastside Catholic requires prospective students to take an entrance examination to be considered for admission, merit-based awards and class placement. When taking an exam, please include the appropriate Eastside Catholic School code on your registration form. Eastside Catholic will accept results from the Independent School Entrance Exam, the Secondary School Admission Test or the High School Placement Test.
Exams will be held in-person and on campus.
We will host the Upper, Middle, and Lower Level ISEE on campus Saturday, October 23, 2021 and Saturday, February 5, 2022, 9 a.m. - noon. To register, please visit iseeonline.erblearn.org/Search and select “Eastside Catholic School” from the Member dropdown field. The Upper and Middle Levels ISEE takes 2 hours and 50 minutes, and the Lower Level takes 2 hours and 30 minutes. The exam includes sections ask questions pertaining to verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, mathematics achievement and an unscored essay. Exams will begin at 9 a.m.
We will host the High School Placement Test (HSPT) on campus Saturday, November 6, 2021, 9 a.m. - noon. To register, please visit eastsidecatholic.org/hspt. The HSPT was the first test battery explicitly designed to deal with selection and/or placement of students entering high school from various elementary schools. Since 1955, the HSPT has provided measures in the primary skill areas and cognitive skill criteria resulting in the most comprehensive placement test available. The entire battery is standardized at the same time with a population of entering high school students. The test produces results that are directly comparable for all test areas and can be related to the level of the students as entering freshmen.
We will host the Elementary and Middle/Upper SSAT on campus Saturday, October 16, 2021, Saturday, November 13, 2021 and Saturday, February 26, 2022, 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. To register, please visit search.ssat.org/test-center-search and search “Eastside Catholic.” The Middle Level SSAT and the Upper Level SSAT take a total of 3 hours and 5 minutes, including two breaks between sections and the experimental section at the end. The Elementary Level SSAT takes 2 hours and 5 minutes to complete, including one break and the experimental section. Both tests will begin at 9 a.m.
At home testing options are available for the ISEE and SSAT.
In lieu of the HSPT, SSAT and ISEE tests, we will accept the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
