The past few years, Eastside Catholic has been fortunate enough to donate unused, good condition laptops to our local community. One place Eastside Catholic delivered laptops to was Seattle Nativity School, a Catholic, STEM and tuition-free middle school whose “commitment is to serving low-income students and close the widening achievement gap in Central and South Seattle.”
With distance learning in place due to COVID-19, the laptops helped Seattle Nativity transition seamlessly to online learning on March 12. After six weeks, we received an impressive result from them: 98% daily student participation online and a 90% completion of assignments.
“We’re grateful for the laptops we received from Eastside Catholic,” Director of Development Judy Shafer said. “Without laptops at home, our students would have experienced another barrier on their road to graduation, college and beyond.”
During uncertain times, we’re grateful to have the opportunity to serve our local community.
