October: The Month of The Rosary

October is a holy month in the Catholic Church dedicated to Mary, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. Rooted in history and rich in spiritual tradition, the Rosary is a powerful prayer of peace, hope and grace to those who embrace it.

Since the Middle Ages, the Rosary has been a lifeline in times of trial and a source of profound spiritual renewal. It’s not just beads—it’s a journey through the life of Christ, guided by His Mother, Mary.

Whether you're praying for peace, your family or the Church, the Rosary invites you to slow down, reflect and grow closer to God. As Pope John Paul II said, “To pray the Rosary is to hand over our burdens to the merciful hearts of Christ and His mother.”  Pope Francis called the Rosary “Spiritual Medicine.”

Would you like to learn or pray the Rosary with others?

Eastside Catholic students, families, faculty and staff are warmly invited to gather for the Rosary each Wednesday at 7:15 a.m. in the St. Clare Chapel. Whether you’re experienced or new to the devotion, all are welcome—no prior knowledge is needed. Questions? Contact Director of Campus Ministry Lynn Kittridge.

World Rosary Day

On Saturday, October 7 at 10 a.m., Catholics around the world will unite in prayer for peace during World Rosary Day, as requested by Pope Leo XIII. Join us in the St. Clare Chapel—or join spiritually by praying the Rosary wherever you may be.

Let this October be a time to rediscover the Rosary and the love that flows through every prayer.
