Middle School Blessing of the Pets Draws Record Crowd of Furry Friends

The annual Middle School Blessing of the Pets transformed the Eastside Catholic Courtyard into a lively scene filled with wagging tails, cheerful smiles and joyful energy. This year's celebration marked one of the largest turnouts yet, with more than 60 dogs and several cats joining students and families for this beloved tradition.

The event honors the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and of Eastside Catholic School. Each year, middle school families gather to celebrate the bond between people and their pets, reinforcing the values of care and compassion that St. Francis embodied.

Director of Campus Ministry Lynn Kittridge once again led the ceremony, guiding students and their families through this meaningful and delightfully "re-bark-able" tradition. The Blessing of the Pets continues to be the highlight of the school year, reminding the community of the joy and responsibility that comes with caring for all of God's creatures.
