Middle School Band and Choir Shine at Silverwood Music Festival

Eastside Catholic’s middle school band and choir traveled to Idaho on May 9-11 to compete in the Music in the Parks Silverwood Festival, an event that brought together schools from across Washington, Idaho and Montana. Facing tough competition from 11 other schools, EC’s musicians delivered standout performances and returned home with an impressive list of accolades.

The middle school choir earned an Excellent rating—the second-highest possible—and took second place in their division, demonstrating both technical skill and expressive performance.

The concert band and jazz tutorial each earned the festival’s highest distinction with Superior ratings, and both groups took first place in their respective divisions.

The jazz tutorial went a step further, winning the Best Jazz Band award, achieving the highest overall score among all middle school and high school jazz ensembles at the festival.

Throughout the competition, EC’s ensembles received numerous compliments from the judges for their musicianship, preparation and stage presence.

Congratulations to all students and music faculty for representing Eastside Catholic with excellence and pride!
