A Festive Finale to Hispanic Heritage Month

Eastside Catholic Middle School students celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by exploring the vibrant traditions of Panama. The assembly highlighted the country's rich cultural diversity through traditional dances and the stunning national dress, La Pollera, a pwerful symbol of pride and heritage.

Middle School World Languages Teacher Maestra Maria Carrillo proudly shared her Panamanian roots, performing alongside Panama Folklore Seattle, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating Panamanian culture in the Pacific Northwest.

The event offered students a meaningful opportunity to experience the beauty of Panamanian heritage while honoring the broader contributions of Hispanic culture withing the community.
