EC Alum Matt Boyd '09 Named to Team USA for World Baseball Classic
Major League Baseball pitcher Matthew Boyd '09 has been named to Team USA’s roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
Boyd, a left-hander for the Chicago Cubs, will join a deep U.S. pitching staff as the tournament begins March 5. The World Baseball Classic features many of the game’s top players representing their home countries.
Boyd made his MLB debut in 2015 and will be making his first appearance in the international tournament.
