Choir Participates in Festival with Renowned Composer
On February 6-7, the Eastside Catholic choir members participated in the Annual Festival of Choirs with Seattle Prep and Bellarmine Prep.
EC hosted the pre-performance rehearsal on Sunday at EC. Each year a guest artist is invited to work with the students at the festival, and this year, Jim Papoulis, a world-renown and award-winning composer, spent time with the students prior to the concert. And on Monday, students performed at St. Charles Borromeo church in Tacoma.
Mr. Papoulis composes, orchestrates and conducts music from many genres and is known for work that combines contemporary, classical, and world sounds with contemporary rhythms, voices, technology, and children's voices. The proceeds from Mr. Papoulis’ music go directly towards the communities with whom he works.
