Owen C. and Aidan C. Win WIAA 3A Boys Doubles State Championship

Seniors Owen C. and Aidan C. finished an exceptional season by capturing the WIAA 3A State Championship in boys doubles tennis. Their title run showcased the teamwork, consistency and competitive spirit that defined their season and secured Eastside Catholic's first boys doubles state championship since 1986.

Throughout the tournament, the pair demonstrated poise under pressure and a strong partnership on the court, advancing through a talented field to meet Lakeside School in the state championship match. They won in straight sets, 6-4 and 7-6, adding a third state championship for Eastside Catholic in 2025-26.

"Aidan and Owen were dialed in and perfectly in tune with each other," said Head Coach Trista Campbell. "They'd give a quick high-five and say, 'Let's go!' after every point won, and a high-five and 'Here we go' after a point that got away. I knew the minute they walked on the court they were going to bring their best tennis to the match. It's one of those rare times when you know you're watching something special unfold. I had a front-row seat, watching a memory being made between two brothers. I was teary-eyed, and my heart was filled with pride as it all came together."

The title marked a fitting end to a unique season for Owen and Aidan. After competing in singles the previous two years, the pair teamed up for doubles this season, combining their talents into one of the state's most formidable partnerships. Their success reflects years of dedication to the sport, including invitations to prestigious national tournaments such as the Orange Bowl in Florida.

"For them to win it as brothers is just incredible," Campbell said. "Their relationship is so much bigger than the title. They train hours and hours, seven days a week, working to take their games up another level. They fly all over the country for tournaments while not getting behind in school. Playing for EC adds another layer to their already packed 24 hours."

Beyond their accomplishments on the court, Owen and Aidan are known throughout the EC community for their humility, academic excellence and leadership. Both maintain strong GPAs, are highly respected by their teachers and enjoy mentoring younger players in the program. They also embody the team's "Fire It Up" motto—setting the standard through their work ethic, competitiveness and commitment to leading by example.

"Owen and Aidan's achievement this season reflects the dedication and discipline they’ve shown for years, but those who know them understand that their character is what truly sets them apart," said Executive Director of Athletics Jeff Feller. "They represent their family, school and community exceptionally well, and it has been a pleasure to watch them grow into outstanding young men both on and off the court."

Congratulations to Owen and Aidan on an outstanding achievement and a memorable finish to the EC athletics season!
