Girl’s Soccer Claims Historic Metro League Championship

The girls soccer team put on a dazzling display at the Metro League Championship game, taking on Roosevelt High School in a winner-take-all match.

Grinding down the Roosevelt defense, the Crusaders came out on top with a 2-0 win. Finishing the 2025 regular season with a 9-2-1 record, the victory marked the first Metro League Championship trophy for the girls soccer program in 35 years.

“Winning the Metro Championship for the first time since 1990 was incredibly special for our program,” Head Coach Kate Stone said. “I took over as head coach just two years ago, and the growth I’ve seen in this group has been remarkable.”

The recipe for this success, Coach Stone adds, boiled down to the bond the girls and coaching staff forged along the way.

“Our success comes from showing up for one another—every day, on and off the field,” Stone said. “These girls are dedicated, resilient, and committed to playing for something bigger than themselves. Most importantly, we’re having fun together, and that joy has fueled everything we’ve achieved. Bringing home the trophy is a testament to their grit, heart, and the bond we have built together this season.

Congratulations, Crusaders, on your historic accomplishment!
