Special Olympics Track and Field Team Members Earn Podium Finishes at Regional Meet

The Eastside Catholic Options Program Special Olympics Track and Field team delivered an outstanding performance at the Special Olympics Northwest Regional Athletics Meet, competing with determination, heart and exceptional team spirit. The Crusaders turned in a day full of personal bests and podium finishes, with multiple athletes earning qualification to the State games.

State qualifiers:

  • Gisele J. ’24 (Running Long Jump, 100 M, 200 M)
  • Jane D. ’13 (Running Long Jump, 100 M)
  • Adi B. ’28 (Tennis Ball, 100 M Walk)
  • Peter M. ’28 (50 M)
  • Aden H. ’24 (Running Long Jump, 400 M)
  • Emily H. (Javelin, 100 M Walk)
  • Michael W. ’28 (1.5K Walk)

Silver medalists:

  • Olivia M. ’29 (50 M)
  • Diego G-G ’25 (Javelin, 200 M, 50 M)
  • Aidan H. ’25 (Shot Put, 200 M, 50 M)

The team, comprised of current students and alums, now looks ahead to the Special Olympics Washington State Games, set for May 30-31 at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, where they will aim to build on an already remarkable season.
