Eastside Catholic Girl's Basketball Topples Bishop Blanchet

Eastside Catholic varsity girls basketball took home a resounding 64-53 victory following a trip to Metro League rival Bishop Blanchet High School. Off the back of a dominant second quarter where the Crusaders tacked on 27 points, EC balanced steady offense and sticky defense to keep the Bears at bay on route to a crucial win.

“We really practice honing in on those key moments where we know we have to turn up,” Head coach Darnellia Russell said. “We can be down by a certain number of points, and our mindset stays the same. It’s the mentality that this team has that gets us locked in. When we eliminate mistakes and avoid crucial fouls, the sky is the limit for this team.”

The win proved vital for momentum and playoff seeding as the Crusaders continue their push toward the postseason.
