Boys Cross Country Earns WIAA Scholastic Honor

Eastside Catholic’s boys cross country team earned statewide academic recognition from the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association through the Gesa Credit Union Scholastic Awards Program, which honors teams for academic excellence during each sports season.

The team placed second in the 3A classification during the fall season with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.84. Team GPAs are calculated using the academic records of all participating student-athletes, recognizing programs that demonstrate a strong commitment to success in the classroom alongside athletic competition.

The WIAA Scholastic Awards program highlights teams across Washington that exemplify balance, discipline and achievement in academics and athletics.

“I’m incredibly proud of our boys cross country team for earning second place in the WIAA Scholastic Achievement Award," head coach Andrew Harris said. "They bring the same discipline, curiosity and work ethic to the classroom that they bring to every practice. Led by our seniors, they have built a culture where academic success is celebrated just as much as athletic success. This recognition reflects the character of the entire team.”

Congratulations to the boys cross country student-athletes on this accomplishment and their continued dedication to excellence on and off the course.
