Parent Volunteer Opportunities at Eastside Catholic

Discover the Power of Volunteering at Eastside Catholic

Volunteering at Eastside Catholic School is a great way for parents, guardians, grandparents, alumni and friends to support students while becoming more connected to the EC community.

Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the school year, from welcoming prospective families at Open Houses and supporting the STARS Gala Auction to helping with parent organizations, spirit wear sales, athletics and school events. Whether you have an hour to give once a year or want to participate regularly, there are many ways to get involved.

Why Volunteer at Eastside Catholic

Volunteers play an important role in creating the welcoming, faith-filled community that makes Eastside Catholic a place where students and families can thrive.

For students, seeing adults volunteer models service, leadership and the importance of giving back. For parents and guardians, volunteering is also an opportunity to:

  • Connect with other EC families
  • Build relationships with faculty and staff
  • Learn more about school programs and traditions
  • Support events that enrich the student experience
  • Share your unique talents, expertise and passions

Many parents tell us that volunteering has helped them build friendships, feel more connected to the school and better understand their student's experience at EC.

What Volunteer Opportunities Are Available at Eastside Catholic?

Volunteer opportunities vary throughout the school year and may include:

  • Admissions Events and Open Houses
  • Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) and Parent Faculty Staff Association (PFSA) activities
  • Annual Fund activities
  • STARS Gala Auction
  • Spirit wear sales
  • Athletic and community events
  • Campus celebrations and special programs

New opportunities are added throughout the year, making it easy to participate whenever your schedule allows.

What Do I Need to Do Before Volunteering?

Student safety is our highest priority. All Eastside Catholic volunteers must complete the Archdiocese of Seattle Safe Environment Training (SET) before volunteering.

The initial training takes about 90 minutes and only needs to be completed once. Safe Environment Training helps volunteers understand how to:

  • Recognize signs of abuse or inappropriate behavior
  • Maintain healthy boundaries
  • Follow best practices when interacting with students
  • Report concerns responsibly

Depending on the volunteer role, additional requirements, including a background check, may apply.

When Should I Complete Safe Environment Training?

We encourage anyone interested in volunteering to complete Safe Environment Training early rather than waiting for a specific opportunity.

Many volunteer opportunities begin as early as the start of the school year with orientations, admissions events, athletics and community celebrations. Completing the required training means you'll be ready when an opportunity that interests you becomes available.

Volunteering isn't just an act of service—it's an invitation to step into the heartbeat of our community.

Ready to Volunteer at Eastside Catholic?

Our community thrives because parents, guardians, grandparents, alumni and friends generously share their time and talents. Whether you volunteer once or throughout the year, your participation helps create meaningful experiences for EC students and families.

Together, we'll continue to inspire students to learn, lead and serve—and build a community where every family belongs.
