A Legacy of Faith and Possibility
Building excellence is hard. Good thing we had help.
In 1980, a committed group of parents banded together to create a school that would offer their children more than public schools could provide and located east of Lake Washington. The school started small and scrappy, using rented space, but over the years word spread. It wasn't just the school's unique values-based community, its academic strength or its reputation for athletic accomplishment. Students and families were genuinely happy here, and the spiritual, intellectual and moral growth nurtured at EC translated into long-term life success.
More than 45 years later, Eastside Catholic stands as the premier, faith-based private educational institution on the Eastside, offering outstanding opportunities to over 800 students of all faiths and backgrounds, including a special education program for students in grades 9-12. The campus is located on 50 beautiful acres with state-of-the-art classrooms, sports facilities, a library and a chapel. The school boasts award-winning arts programs, multiple state championships across both boys' and girls' sports, and offers an ever-growing roster of programs and activities for grades 6 - 12.
Despite our phenomenal growth and success, the founding principles continue to hold true: to provide a welcoming, faith-based community with a commitment to nurture every student's unique academic and personal potential.
In 2015 interview, one of the school's founding members, Kitty Domres, reflects on the origins of Eastside Catholic High School.

School Mascot
Our school mascot is the Crusader named for the Knight from Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales whose love of ideals were “chivalrie” (prowess), “trouthe” (fidelity), “honour” (reputation), “fredom” (generosity), and “curteisie” (good manners).
An Eastside Catholic School Crusader is someone who leads with honesty, treats others with kindness and stands up for what’s right—even when it’s hard. They inspire others by living with courage, respect and heart.

School Shield
Our school shield is a symbol rich with meaning, thoughtfully designed to reflect our values and commitment to academic and personal excellence.
Cross: communicates our faith-based environment and our commitment to doing God's will. It also incorporates a primary focal point of our campus: the cross above our chapel
Three-pointed Shield: communicates our three touchstones—academic excellence, relationships and servant leadership
Flame: as a dominant element, it has positive connotations of knowledge, the Holy Spirit and warmth
Hand: represents relationships, our supporting and welcoming environment and service to others

Our Fight Song
Catch the spirit Eastside Catholic,
The Crusaders won’t be beat
Our opponents learn the lesson
As we push them to defeat.
Give ‘em all we’ve got and then some!
They’ll remember Eastside’s name.
We’re marching on to victory,
As Crusaders win this game!
