Eastside Catholic School is proud to be accredited through the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS).

NWAIS accreditation is awarded to schools meeting the Association’s rigorous Standards and Indicators that focus on institutional integrity, adherence to the mission of the school and a commitment to continual improvement. Sustained affiliation with this organization ensures that Eastside Catholic School remains mission-focused and embraces a practice of self-reflection designed to assess and improve the high quality programs offered to our students and retain the relevant nature of an EC education in a changing world.

Eastside Catholic School was last fully accredited by NWAIS in 2002.

2019 Reaccreditation Process - Letter to Community

Originally published in October 2019

This academic year we begin the schoolwide self-study portion of reaccreditation. This is a lengthy review of programs and policies in preparation for a visiting team to spend four days on our campus observing us. This self-study allows us to comprehensively analyze every aspect of our school. In March 2021, a team comprised of heads of schools, faculty and professional staff will spend time discussing with us and observing our work to discern the degree to which our mission is evident.

We are confident that this important, reflective process will allow for key insights into the way we operate today and how we can best move forward as we envision and shape our future.

Every faculty and staff member has a role in this 18-month process, along with our trustees and other community members. Teams have formed and have started to complete the required projects for reaccreditation. Time will be dedicated during our monthly Thursday early release days for these cross-functional teams to collaborate on the self-study and ensure that this process is representative of the school as a whole.

Students, families, faculty and staff are central to our identity and to the everyday life as a school. Please note: Students, families, faculty and staff will all be asked to offer their insights through a number of surveys in the next 18 months. It is vital to the reaccreditation process that we receive input from our community members, so please watch for additional emails with survey links. You will receive the first general survey in late October. A second survey, from the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), will be sent into you in November. Two additional surveys will be sent in Spring 2020 and again in Fall 2020.

We appreciate the time our community will dedicate to this important process to ensure our school maintains institutional integrity, adherence to our mission and touchstones and a commitment to continual improvement. Thank you in advance for your support and contributions to this important process.
