Sports are an important part of life at Eastside Catholic. Approximately 85% of students participate in at least one sport per year. More than 20 different EC teams compete in the Metro AAA league, which includes Bainbridge, Bishop Blanchet, Chief Sealth, Cleveland, Franklin, Holy Names, Ingraham, Lakeside, Nathan Hale, O’Dea, Rainier Beach, Seattle Prep and West Seattle.
Eastside Catholic athletes have distinguished themselves both on and off the playing fields, earning all-metro, all-league and all-academic honors. Many of our athletes go on to play at the collegiate level. Currently we have graduates playing sports at Dartmouth, Army, University of Pennsylvania, Oregon State University and Arizona State University, among others. |
Sports offered at Eastside Catholic | Three sport seasons are held during the year. All students are encouraged to participate, regardless of experience. Tryouts are held at the beginning of the season and cuts are made in most sports. Some sports have both junior varsity and varsity teams. Some sports have freshman or freshman-sophomore teams as well. |
